The Rescue — Coming December 3

Directed and produced by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, this 2021 documentary tells the incredible true story of the Tham Luang cave rescue of 2018, a mission that saved a junior football team from being trapped inside a flooded cave in Thailand.

The First Wave – December 5

Directed and produced by Matthew Heineman, this harrowing 2021 documentary film tells the real-life story of the first four months of COVID-19 pandemic, following the brave health care workers at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York, as they risk their lives in the epic battle to keep patients protected from the virus.

The Heat — Coming December 10

Directed by Paul Feig, and starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, this 2013 action-comedy follows the story of FBI agent Sarah who arrives in Boston to hunt down an elusive drug lord, which she hopes will lead to a big promotion. However, a fellow cop named Mullins, who prefers to do things alone, gets in her way.

Being the Queen — Coming December 17

Featuring never-before-heard interviews with some of the people closest to her majesty, this fascinating documentary delves into what it is really like being Queen Elizabeth II.

The Wonder Years — Coming December 22

Inspired by the 1988 series of the same name, this coming-of-age comedy follows the story of a 12-year-old Black boy, Dean Williams, living in Montgomery, Alabama, in the late 1960s. Throughout the series, the story is told by Dean's adult self, who is voiced by the Academy Award-nominated actor, Don Cheadle.

The Con — Coming December 22

Narrated by the Emmy, Grammy, Tony and Oscar winner, Whoopi Goldberg, this true-crime series unpicks the stories of people who were taken in by claims and promises that proved too good to be true, including everything from identity fraud, to misleading romance, the high-profile college admission scandal and Fyre Festival.

Encanto — Coming December 24

This 2021 animated musical-comedy tells the story of a Columbian girl who grapples with the frustration of being the only member of her family who doesn't have magical powers. Featuring original songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda of Hamilton fame, the film also stars the voices of Stephanie Beatriz, John Leguizamo, and MarĂ­a Cecilia, among others.

Downhill — Coming December 24

Directed by Nat Faxon and Jim Rash, this 2020 black comedy follows the story of married couple Bille and Pete, played by Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell, who decide to jet off on a family skiing vacation to Austria. However, in the wake of a near-death experience, the couple is forced to confront their relationship and their feeling for one another.

Star Wars: The Book Of Boba Fett — Coming December 29

This thrilling S tar Wars adventure centres on the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand as they navigate the galaxy's underworld after returning to the sands of Tatooine, where they seek to stake their claim on the territory that was once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

The Salisbury Poisonings — Coming December 29

Based on true events, and starring Anne-Marie Duff, Rafe Spall and Annabel Scholey, this 2020 BBC drama depicts the 2018 Salisbury poisonings, and follows a high-pressured investigation carried out by detectives and emergency services to try and locate the source of a nerve agent in a bid to prevent any further casualties.

Paddington 2 — Coming December 31

This critically-acclaimed animated sequel features the voices of Ben Whishaw, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, and Hugh Grant, and follows the loveable Paddington as he takes up a new job to ensure he can afford to buy the perfect gift for his aunt on her 100th birthday. However, the gift is stolen, and Paddington is wrongly arrested and imprisoned for the theft.
